Proud to be an impartial mortgage company

I’m Kevin Stead, a whole of market mortgage broker with more than fifteen years of experience in helping clients to buy, remortgage and protect their homes. I am CeMAP qualified, which is the industry-wide, benchmark qualification for mortgage advisers, so you can be assured that you are in expert hands. I’m also an impartial mortgage broker, which means I’m not tied to particularly lenders and I’m in a position to share my in-depth knowledge of first charge mortgages (which, in plain English, is a normal mortgage). I’m here to recommend those mortgage products that best suit your particular needs.

I am based in Kendal, Cumbria but I service clients from all over the UK, arranging mortgage deals and protection on behalf of: first time buyers, home movers, those requiring a remortgage, commercial property purchasers, and Buy to Let landlords. I also offer advice to customers who simply wish to review their finances: as the market changes, which it regularly does, it is good to review and/or renew your borrowing.

As I have more than a fifteen years of experience, I’m able to help you navigate the market regardless of the economic climate – my aim is to find the right financial products for you, and to ensure that they remain suitable for your needs. I will help you to make the right choice when planning your financial portfolio, tailoring solutions to your current – and future – situation.

When should you seek advice from an impartial mortgage company based in Cumbria?

The short answer to this question is: whenever you need a helping hand with owning your home, your commercial property, or your buy to let property.

Here at Stead Mortgages, we understand how important it is to have the right information every step of the way when you: buy a house for the first time; look to move home; consider a buy to let purchase; require new or further premises for your business; or, when you need to remortgage. By seeking professional help from us, you will benefit from:

  1. A check of your finances to make sure you can afford a mortgage
  2. Access to lender deals that are exclusive to mortgage advisers and not otherwise available
  3. Thorough and quick completion of paperwork to help speed up the application process
  4. Help to understand all of the costs and features of the mortgage deal – looking beyond the interest rate
  5. Reassurance that we will only recommend suitable mortgages and those that you are likely to get

Please note:
Your home may be repossessed if you do not keep up repayments on your mortgage.
We are unable to provide advice on secured loans, bridging finance or commercial lending but if you require advice in any of these areas, we can put you in touch with a specialist firm.
